reflection

Reflection during the coaching process is about perception, elucidation, and clarity. This aspect of the engagement with coaching is to embrace awareness and self-awareness; an essential aspect of the life coaching process.  Reflection is the process of looking back on one's experiences, thoughts, and actions, and evaluating them in a thoughtful and critical way that supports the process of transformative thinking.  Reflection is a powerful tool for personal growth and development, and it is particularly important in the context of your life coaching experience.

Reflection is significant in life coaching for several reasons. Firstly, it allows you to gain insights and understanding about yourself and your experiences. By reflecting on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, you can identify patterns and themes that may be contributing to your challenges or hindering your progress towards your goals. Reflection can also help you identify your strengths and areas for improvement, and can lead to a deeper understanding of your values, goals, and motivations.

Components of reflection are closely attuned to awareness and self-awareness, particularly when exploring your learning and thinking from periods of reflection.  Reflection helps you to develop self-awareness; the ability to recognize your own sense of belonging, purpose, and place in the world. By reflecting on your experiences, you can gain a greater understanding of yourself, your strengths and weaknesses, and ultimately your impact upon others. This heightened awareness supports you in making more informed decisions, develop better relationships, and achieve greater success in your personal and professional life.

Layers of awareness are significant because it can lead to meaningful change and transformation, alongside an organic growth of the relationship between you and your coach.  As you develop your awareness of those around you, purpose and place become clearer.  You are able to see with a greater degree of lucidity, the role that you have in context of your new journey and the steps that you are now taking to change your path.
